The L42A1 was a British Army, Royal Marines and RAF Regiment sniper rifle chambered for the 7.62mm NATO cartridge which entered service in 1970. It served until replacement by the Accuracy International L96 in 1985.
This rifle saw action in the gulf war and has a 10-round detachable box magazine and weighs 4.4 kg (9.7 lb)
